Picking, or optional product management, is an essential feature that lets your sales reps offer additional products beyond those negotiated and listed with the buying group. Assortments in Sidely offer a practical way to organize picking products alongside store typologies and tiers. Here's how to set up and manage picking effectively.
What is picking in Sidely?
Picking groups together the optional products a sales rep can sell, in addition to the mandatory products negotiated in the main assortments. This allows you to:
Offer commercial flexibility.
Limit the optional products available to sales reps to better frame their actions.

The main assortment can include the negotiated mandatory products.
An assortment named "Picking - Carrefour Market" will group together the optional products.

Tips for optimal picking management
Adapt picking to multiple brands:
If you use separate assortments for each brand, apply the same logic to picking to stay consistent (e.g., Picking - Carrefour Market - Grain de Sail and Picking - Carrefour Market - Météor).
Limit the products available for picking:
Create specific assortments to restrict picking options to products relevant to each retail banner or department.
Make sure picking is clear for sales reps:
Explain the difference between mandatory and optional products to your field teams.
Update your picking assortments regularly:
Add or remove products based on negotiations or sales needs.
