Assortments: V1 or multidimensional?

Understand the two ways to manage assortments in Sidely — V1 and multidimensional — and know which one to use.

An assortment defines the products expected in a point of sale. It is the basis for calculating DN (numeric distribution): products present ÷ products that should be present. Sidely offers two ways to manage assortments; you choose based on how complex your segmentation is.

V1 assortments (Assortments page)
Each assortment is a named list of products with prices (also called a typology, tier or price catalog), created one by one or via an Excel template, then linked to the store. It handles picking and multiple brands. Suited to organizations whose segmentation remains simple.

Multidimensional assortment (the engine)
A product × dimensions matrix (tier, retail banner, buying group/warehouse) that drives, from a single place, listing (mandatory/picking → field checks and DN), orders (availability, prices, order guides, stock) and resources (POS materials, department). Suited to organizations with strong segmentation by retail banner and buying group.

💡 Tip: if you're wondering which one to use, start from your needs. Management by banner/buying group with differentiated prices and order guides calls for the multidimensional assortment; a list of products by typology works perfectly well in V1.
