The Sidely map is a key tool for sales force managers, offering a clear, geographic view of sales activity. By combining Advanced filters, saved Views, and display modes, you can manage your team effectively and track key points such as the progress of a sales operation, visit frequency delays, or the DN (numeric distribution) of your products.
Why use the map to track activity?
The map lets you:
View your sales reps' companies and areas of activity in real time.
Quickly identify specific problems or opportunities.
Manage your ongoing campaigns or operations in a targeted way.
Make decisions more easily thanks to geographic and color-coded analysis.
How do I set up my map for effective tracking?
1. Use advanced filters
Apply filters to display only the relevant companies or events.
Go to the Companies or Map tab and open the Advanced filters panel.
Examples of useful filters for tracking:
Companies with a frequency delay: Identify points of sale that have not been visited within the planned timeframe.
Select the Frequency delay filter, then Visit, then "is greater than" 1. This lets you see the companies that have not been visited within the timeframe set in the frequency. For example, if the company must be visited once a month, this will show the companies that have not been visited in the last 30 days.DN too low: See the stores where numeric distribution is insufficient so you can react quickly.
Select the calculated field DN %, and enter a value below the one you want to view:You can combine filters by going to the filter and clicking "and" or "or", depending on what you want to view.
2. Create and use suitable views
Save your filters as dynamic views for regular use.
Examples of views to set up:
Views for frequency delays: Display the points of sale where visits are overdue, colored in red.
Views for a sales operation: See the companies that have not yet bought a product linked to a promotion.
Views by territory or sales rep: Monitor the activity of each member of your team to manage them better.
Click Save view
Give the view a name and choose whether or not you want the view to be shared
Find the view again by clicking the view title at the top left
3. Map display modes
Use the different display modes to highlight specific indicators. For example:
Ongoing campaigns: Track the points of sale involved in an active campaign.
Visit frequencies: Identify delays or companies with an on-track frequency.
Last completed event: See when the last interaction at a point of sale took place.
Additional or calculated fields: Use custom data such as geographic segments or specific performance metrics.
Practical example: Tracking a sales operation
Set up a specific view:
Filter the companies linked to an ongoing campaign.
Add a criterion to display only those with no recorded sale.
Save this configuration as a dedicated view (e.g. "OP Promo - Not finalized", where OP (promotional operation) refers to the promotion).
View it on the map:
Apply the "OP Promo - Not finalized" view to instantly see the companies concerned.
Look at the geographic distribution of the points to follow up on.
Manage and take action:
Assign tasks to your sales reps to target critical points.
Track progress in real time by refreshing the view.
Best practices for effective management
Create views by sales rep: Let each manager track their team with suitable indicators.
Analyze delays regularly: Use frequency filters to keep things from slipping.
Adapt the display modes: Use color coding for quick visual reading.
Cross-reference data: Combine several criteria for deeper analysis (DN, frequency, campaigns).
