Use "star" mode territory visualization

Assign your sales portfolios more easily with a clear, intuitive view centered on a central point.

Feature overview

"Star" mode (also called "sea urchin" mode) is a map display mode in Sidely.
It lets you view a territory's points of sale radiating around a center: for example, the sales rep's home, a branch or the headquarters.

This view is ideal for:

  • Quickly analyzing the geographic logic of a territory

  • Reassigning points of sale from one territory to another with immediate visual feedback

  • Adjusting assignments easily from the map

Why is it useful?

  • You immediately spot geographic gaps or inconsistencies

  • You reassign a portfolio more consistently, without juggling several tools

  • You save time by reorganizing your territories visually

Guided steps

Step 1: Access the territory map

  1. From the Sidely web version, open the [Map] module

  2. On the left, in the display modes, select the "Territory mapping" view mode

Step 2: Choose the territory center

  1. A user's center is set in the user settings, and can be:

    • The sales rep's home

    • A branch

    • A custom geographic point

  2. Once selected, Sidely displays a radial representation, with all assigned points of sale around the center

Step 3: Reassign points of sale

  1. Click a point of sale to change its territory assignment, or use the lasso to make a bulk change.

  2. The point immediately changes color (or line) according to its new assignment

  3. This way you can rebalance portfolios quickly, based on the reality in the field

✅ All changes are visible live on the map. Nothing is generated automatically: you stay in control of the adjustments.

👤 Marc, a regional director, is analyzing his sales reps' territories in the southwest.

He turns on "star" mode around each sales rep's home.
At a glance, he spots that some points of sale are much closer to another sales rep than to the one they are assigned to.
He reassigns them directly on the map in a few clicks.

Result: more consistent territories, better coverage and fewer miles driven.
