Visibility of visit comments

Who can see visit comments in Sidely, depending on role and permissions.

Comment visibility by profile

Comments and reports entered during visits can be accessed from the company record, in the visit history. Their visibility depends on the user's permissions.

Can a sales rep see other reps' comments?

By default, a sales rep only sees their own visits and reports. They cannot view other sales reps' comments on points of sale that are not assigned to them. This restriction is managed through security groups.

A manager can see all of their team's comments

A manager has access to the full visit history of all the sales reps in their group. They can therefore read the reports, notes, and comments from each visit from the company record or from the list of forms.

Comments do not appear in reports

Free-text comment fields cannot be displayed in standard reports — they can only be accessed from the visit record or via a form export. If you want to track comments in a report, the field must be turned into a drop-down list or a structured field in the form.

Change comment visibility permissions

If you want a sales rep to be able to see the comments from a colleague's visits (e.g. when a territory is transferred), change the permissions of their security group from Settings → Security groups.
