Permissions and roles: who sees what in Sidely

Understand permissions and roles in Sidely: who sees what, how security groups work, and report visibility.

Who sees what in Sidely?

In Sidely, visibility permissions work on two levels: your role determines what you can do, and your security group determines which data you can act on.

Main roles

Administrator: full access. Can create and delete users, configure account settings, create forms, and access all reports and data.

Manager: can see their team's data (depending on the group configuration). Can create and edit reports. Usually can't change global account settings.

Sales rep: only sees their own stores and their own data. Can fill in forms and view their personal reports. Doesn't see other sales reps' data unless specifically configured.

Security groups

Security groups define the data scope each user can access. A sales rep in the "South Region" group will only see the stores in that region. A manager in the same group will see all the sales reps in the South Region.

To view or edit groups: Settings → Security groups.

Report visibility

A report created by an administrator can be shared with everyone, with a team, or kept private. A sales rep only sees reports that have been shared with them, or the ones they created themselves.

💡 If a user can't see a report they expect, check that the report is shared with their group or profile.

Sales reps' calendar visibility

A manager can see the calendar of every sales rep in their group from the web calendar. By default, a sales rep only sees their own calendar. This visibility can be adjusted in the group settings.
