Manage security groups

Learn how to manage security groups to control access and protect your data in Sidely.

At Sidely, managing access and permissions is key to organizing your sales team and keeping your data secure. With the Security group feature, you can efficiently manage user access rights by company or by default, and decide exactly who can view, edit or delete information.

Access security group settings

To set up a security group:

  1. Go to the Sidely Settings menu.

  2. Click Account settings.

  3. Select Security group.

Click Settings

Click Account settings

Click Security groups

You'll then see the list of existing groups. Click the name of the group you want to set up.

Define user teams and their access permissions

Once you're on a group's page (e.g. "CS/ DNV"), you can access the different permissions you can grant:

  • View

  • Read

  • Create

  • Update

  • Delete

Click the group

Permissions

For each permission, you can choose:

  • Default: the rule applies to the whole account if no specific rule is set.

  • Company: the permission depends on the company.

  • User: the permission applies to the user in question.

  • None: no right is granted for this action.

This gives you fine-grained control tailored to each group's responsibilities.
